With the power of the sun
Rupp uses a 5,404 square meter solar system for renewable energy, saving 878 Tonnes of CO2 emissions since 2020 – the equivalent of planting 26.220 trees.

Sustainable resource management
Through the partnership with ARA (Altstoff Recycling Austria), Rupp practises sustainable resource management by systematically separating and recycling all packaging waste. In 2023, this led to a CO2 reduction of 150 tonnes – equivalent to around 1,9 million car kilometers.

Three-Stage Alpine Farming
A key aspect of our unique cheese craft is three-stage alpine farming, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In spring, the cows migrate from the winter pastures in the valley to the alpine pastures. These are the low mountain pastures between 1,100 and 1,600 meters, where they spend several weeks while the valley pastures regenerate. This traditional method allows farmers to provide their cows with fresh fodder from different altitudes all year round.
